Kathmandu. IME Khalti Limited (Khalti) has started a program for its users to participate in the taxpayer incentive gift program 2083 by the Department of Inland Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal. Under this program, Rs. Users who qualify for digital payments worth more than Rs. 100 will automatically participate in daily and fortnightly gift choices.
Under the program, one winner every day gets a cash prize of Rs. The winner will receive Rs 1 lakh and every 15 days will receive Rs 10 lakh.
The details of eligible transactions done through Khalti will automatically reach the Inland Revenue Department’s platform through a secure system. Participation in the program will be easier as the gift coupons will be generated automatically and can also be viewed through the Khalti app. The Department would select winners on the 1st and 16th of every month through an automated system and inform about the information via mobile phone and email. Khalti will also provide information to the users who have participated in it through Khalti through various mediums.
By joining this initiative of the government, Khalti aims to help expand the invoice-based practices of digital payments and help increase consumer trust in digital payments. This is expected to facilitate the documentation of transactions and also contribute to the strengthening of the formal economy and the national revenue system.
