According to the Insurance Reflection published by the Nepal Insurance Authority, the number of life insurance policies has declined by 16.49 percent in the last fiscal year. As the number of surrenders decreases, the amount paid for surrenders has also decreased. In the previous fiscal year, the life insurer had paid a total of Rs 15.15 billion as dedication. In the last fiscal year, the insured received payment of Rs 13.77 billion. The surrender amount decreased by 9.11 percent compared to the previous year.
According to NEA, there has been a slight decrease in the number of life insurance policies that have exceeded 6 months from the date of payment of renewal premium. The number of insurance policies has decreased by 17.17 percent in the review year compared to the previous year.
In the last fiscal year, 10,30,040 insurance policies were issued. The remaining amount of the insurance policy stands at Rs 39.24 billion.
In the previous fiscal year, there were 1,243,365 insurance policies and the outstanding amount was Rs 35.01 billion. Compared to the previous year, the outstanding amount of insurance policy has increased by 12.08 percent.
