Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has been hit hard by tariffs. As a result, he is under his own stress.
In April last year, Trump began imposing reciprocal tariffs on countries around the world, and a series of tariffs led to a trade war. However, when hearing the petitions against these tariffs, the Supreme Court dealt a big blow to Trump.
In one ruling, a large part of the tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act were declared illegal and repealed. The Trump administration was also ordered to return them. According to the latest update, about $100 billion has been returned in tariff collection.
The lawsuit, filed by US customs officials in court, has shared crucial information about Trump’s tariff rollback. It reports that the Trump administration has withdrawn nearly $100 billion following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to invalidate tariffs imposed by President Trump under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
The petition, filed with the U.S. International Trade Court, says the refund money with interest has been processed through the government’s customs refund system and sent to the Treasury Department for distribution. – Agency
