Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has expressed happiness over the entry of international luxury hotel brand ‘The Rich Carlton’ in Nepal.
Minister Wagle said this during a meeting with Davis Marriott, President of Marriott International and managers of Chaudhary Group, a Nepali partner at the Ministry of Finance on Monday. The meeting between Finance Minister Wagle and Minister Wagle took place at the Ministry on the second day of the announcement of the operation of The Rich Carlton Hotel in partnership with the Chaudhary Group in Thamel, Kathmandu.
On the occasion, Finance Minister Dawagle thanked Davis Marriott president for expanding his business in Nepal and making Nepal a destination for the world’s richest persons. He also said that the presence of The Rich Carlton could make Nepal a destination for billionaires of the world. “The announcement of your new project has added a new enthusiasm to the investors. “There is a belief that the rich people of the world can now make The Rich Carlton of Nepal their destination,” he said, adding that this could take Nepal’s tourism to a new height. ’
Stating that the new government was working towards creating investment-friendly environment, Finance Minister Wagle urged Marriott and The Rich Carlton to expand their business outside Kathmandu as well. He also assured the investors that the government would provide full support for the development of necessary infrastructure and legal facilitation for the protection and promotion of investment. “The government is committed to protect your investment. Developing aviation and on-site infrastructure required for expanding our business are our priorities,” he said. I think Nepal can now become a destination for the world’s billionaires. ’
During the meeting, Chairman Davis Marriott said that Nepal is a world class guide destination and a country of mountains and The Rich Carlton would further expand this in the world market. “We are very happy to announce The Rich Carlton in Nepal and we are committed to expanding our investments,” he added. “Nepal is a country with abundant tourism potential. The presence of The Rich Carlton will send a pleasant message to the world-class trekking destination and the country of mountains,” he said.
Rahul Chaudhary, managing director of CG Hospitality Holdings and CG Crop Global, said that Nepal has a lot of potential. Saying the investors have been enthused after the formation of the new government, he said adequate support and cooperation from the government was imperative.
Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of CG Crop Global, Rajiv Menon, Chairman of Marriott Asia Pacific (excluding China) and representatives of Finance Minister’s Secretariat were present on the occasion.
