Kathmandu. India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has announced a price hike of up to Rs 30,000 on its passenger vehicle (PV) range. The new prices will be effective from June 2026. The company has taken this decision due to the ever-increasing input costs.

According to Maruti, this price increase will be applicable to all models in its portfolio. However, the price hike will depend on the model and variant. The company has given this information in the stock exchange filing.

The company sells its vehicles through two separate dealership channels, Arena and Nexa. From June, cars sold through both these channels will be expensive.

Arena models: Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonRSR Eeco, Swift, Dzire, Ertiga, Brezza and Victoris are among the models that will be revised.

Nexa models: Baleno, Franks, Grand Vitara, Jimny, XL6, Invicto and the recently launched electric car e-Vitara will also go up in prices.

Attempt to reduce the company’s cost failed

The Brezza manufacturer said in a statement over the past few months that it has been working steadily to mitigate the cost impact. The company has also implemented several cost-cutting measures to ensure that customers are not burdened. However, inflationary pressures in the market have reached significant levels and an unfavorable cost environment persists.

The company has made it clear in its filing that it is now necessary to transfer a portion of the increased costs due to the current economic situation to the market. Despite this, the company is trying to ensure that this price increase has minimal impact on the general customer. –Agency
