Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump described his summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping as “very successful, discussed globally and unforgettable”.
Trump left for Washington today after a two-day meeting in Beijing. According to Chinese state media, Xi Jinping described the visit as “historic and milestone”.
However, no major trade deal or new agreement has been announced between the two countries. Trump’s Air Force One plane took off from Beijing. On the way, he is believed to be able to interact with the media and more details about the meeting could be revealed.
The two leaders discussed trade, oil supplies, Iran and Taiwan. Earlier, in an interview with Fox News, Trump said that Xi Jinping had promised not to supply military equipment to Iran.
Trump has said that China wants to keep the Strait of Hormuz open again. “Beijing has also agreed to buy oil from the United States,” he said. ’
So far, however, the two sides have shared limited information about the concrete outcome of the talks or any formal agreement. –Agency
