Committee formed to probe ex-home minister Sudhan Gurung’s controversy

Kathmandu. The government has formed a committee to study and investigate into the issues of public concern raised during and after the tenure of former home minister Sudhan Gurung.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on May 11, 2008 decided to form a committee with former High Court judge Achyut Prasad Bhandari as chairperson, Auditor General Shobhakanta Poudel and Joint Attorney General Achyut Mani Neupane as members, according to PM’s press and investigation expert Deepa Dahal.TAG_OPEN_div_5

According to Dahal, the probe committee has been given the responsibility to investigate the issues raised publicly about former Home Minister Gurung, who is also a member of the House of Representatives, and submit a report along with suggestions to the government within 15 days.TAG_OPEN_div_3
