Himalaya Sports & DIGO World Cup Football, Here’s How to Become a Subscriber

Kathmandu. The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be broadcast exclusively in Nepal through Himalaya Sports TV and DIGO App. The official announcement regarding the FIFA World Cup broadcast was made in Nepal in a special program organized in Kathmandu on Friday.

Nepali viewers can now subscribe to Himalaya Sports Television and Digo app to watch all the matches of the World Cup. Apart from these two platforms, the World Cup will not be allowed to be watched in Nepal.

The exclusive broadcast agreement has been signed with Himalaya Sports and Himalaya Television and Digo app for mobile app.

Following the agreement, Som Dhital, President of Spro Media said that the world fans in Nepal will now be able to watch the World Cup on Nepali television and mobile app. He said that the situation of dependence on foreign channels has ended.

On the occasion, Himalaya Television’s sports special channel ‘Himalaya Sports’ was also launched. Chairman of Himalaya Television Network Dharma Raj Bhusal, Executive Director Shyam Kandel and Chief Executive Officer of Himalaya Sports Suraj Giri inaugurated the channel.

Speaking at the program, Chairman Bhusal said that Himalaya Television has started a new chapter to broadcast world-class content in Nepal through its subscription model.

Similarly, Executive Director Shyam Kandel said that the channel has been launched to disseminate quality sports content to promote sports economy.

On the same occasion, a mobile app was also launched. Earlier, the mobile app named ‘DishHome Go’ has been launched under the name ‘Digo’ with new technology and new look. The app was launched by Dish Media Network Chairman Hemraj Dhakal, Director Sudip Acharya and Chief Executive Officer Prasanna Pokharel.

Chairman Dhakal said that DIGO has been launched in a new form along with the FIFA World Cup as it is a golden opportunity in terms of investment at a time when technology, market and audience are ready at the same time. He said that DIGO has been launched with the objective of connecting Nepalis around the world through content.

In the program, CEO and Director of Himalaya Sports Suraj Giri and Chief Operating Officer of DIGO Roshan Niraula informed about the technical aspects of television broadcasting, mobile app and other technical aspects.

Viewers will have to subscribe to Himalaya Sports channel to watch the FIFA World Cup. The World Cup will be charged Rs 999 per set-up box (including tax).

Currently, under the Early Bird Offer, customers can purchase passes for a limited period of Rs 799 through the DIGO app. For viewers who want to watch only through mobile, a fee of Rs 549 (including tax) has been fixed.

Spectators will be able to watch all 104 matches of the World Cup. To subscribe to the television, one has to contact the concerned cable operator or television service provider.
