Kathmandu. Santosh Narayan Shrestha has resigned from the post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).
Shrestha submitted his resignation letter to the Ministry of Finance today. “The reason for his resignation is not yet clear,” a Sebon source said.
With the formation of a single government of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), there was a lot of discussion about the appointments made on the basis of politics. The RSP had also urged those who made such appointments to resign and pave the way.
The then government had appointed Shrestha as the chairman of Sebon on November 23, 2081. His tenure was also very controversial.
