Kathmandu. The Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC), Thailand’s insurance regulator, has asked Google to help develop guidelines to prevent and suppress insurance fraud. These frauds take the form of fake applications or offers from operators not supervised by the OIC.
OIC officials met with Google representatives in Bangkok in February this year to discuss ways to coordinate and collaborate to prevent the risk and adverse impact of insurance products offered by those who intend to defraud the public.
According to the OIC’s Under-Secretary-General for Legal and Audit, Adisorn Pipatwarapong, the OIC stands ready to take the necessary action to prevent and suppress these crimes and ensure effective guidelines. –Agency
