Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has directed the government to completely close the entrance exam preparation and bridge course classes that were conducted before admission to various classes at the school level and various levels of higher education.
Issuing a press release, the Ministry has issued strict instructions to close all such types of preparatory classes with effect from April 1, 2083.
According to the ministry, this step has been taken in view of the negative impact of such classes on students. Such preparatory classes have been found to have an adverse effect on the psychology of the students.
The ministry has said that it has added unnecessary financial burden on parents and students. “These extra classes have hindered equitable access to education,” the statement said.
This directive has been issued as per the decision of the minister on 2082-12-13. The ministry has directed all concerned to abide by this decision. The ministry has also requested the district administration offices to monitor whether such classes are being conducted or not.
“Strict action will be taken as per the prevailing law if anyone is found conducting such classes against the directives,” said the statement signed by the ministry’s joint secretary and spokesperson Shiva Kumar Sapkota.
