Kathmandu. A workshop on Single Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme was organized at Hotel Square in Lalitpur on Thursday, February 28 in collaboration with the Deposit and Credit Guarantee Fund and UNDP. The workshop was attended by senior management officials from PADT, UNDP and A-class banks.
A model project is in the process of being implemented to establish a separate fund with the joint contribution of the Deposit and Credit Guarantee Fund, UNDP and nine selected local levels to invest in the specified areas related to agriculture and to increase the people’s access to credit. In this context, this workshop has been organized to provide feedback to the lender commercial banks.
On the occasion, senior managers of Rastriya Banijya Bank, Agriculture Development Bank, Global IME Bank, Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Nepal SBI Bank, Prabhu Bank, Himalayan Bank, NMB Bank, Himalayan Bank, among others presented their suggestions on the draft of the scheme prepared in collaboration with the Fund and UNDP.
Chief Executive Officer of the Fund Ramesh Ghimire said that the plan will be finalized after further discussions on the suggestions received on the draft and following the acceptable suggestions.
