According to the news published by Asian Insurance Post, on October 18, 2023, at around 1 pm, Manish Kumar Chaudhary was riding his motorcycle on Rithala road near Rohini East Metro Station in Delhi. At the same time, the bus driven by Sanjay suddenly changed lanes and Manish’s motorcycle collided with the rear of the bus. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

CCTV video opens the poll:

In court, the bus driver had claimed that the accident took place when Manish tried to overtake. However, the presiding officer of the tribunal, Bikram Singh, said that the negligence of the bus driver was evident when he studied the CCTV footage of the incident. The court dismissed the claim of the bus driver after the video footage showed him changing lane in a sudden and careless manner.

The court also awarded a compensation of Rs 1.26 crore to the three families of the deceased, including mother and sister. The responsibility of paying this amount has been given to New India Assurance Company Limited.
