Kathmandu. After selling the company, Graham Walker, CEO of Fiberband, a family business based in Louisiana, USA, made a decision. This decision is now being discussed all over the world.

Walker has distributed about $240 million (more than $34.56 billion) of the sale proceeds directly to his 540 full-time employees. Notably, the employee did not have any shares in the company.

The fiberbond was sold to American giant Eaton. During the agreement, Walker explicitly specified that his employees would receive a share of the sale proceeds. This information was revealed in a report by the Wall Street Journal.

According to Walker, the decision was made in honor of the loyalty shown by employees during the company’s difficult times. The bonus amount was astounding. On average, each employee received a bonus of about $443,000 (about Rs 6.37 crore). If the employees remain in the company, this amount will be paid within 5 years instead of all at once. The bonus payment has already started from June 2025.

Many employees didn’t believe this to be true at first. Some thought it was a joke. Walker himself admitted that some employees spent as soon as they received the bonus. In his words, after all, it’s their money and the decision is theirs.

The story of FiberBand is one of struggle and comeback. The company was founded in 1982 by Graham’s father, Claude Walker. In 1998, a fire broke out at the factory. However, the salaries of the employees have not stopped. During the dot-com bubble, there were layoffs, but Graham and his brother later paid off debts, took over the company, and started a new division. As a result, sales increased by 400 percent. The move has been hailed as one of the most positive Christmas news on social media.
