Kathmandu. Insurance companies have so far claimed more than Rs 23.44 billion for the physical damage caused by the riots during the Genji agitation on September 7 and 24.
As per the data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA), 14 non-life insurance companies and four micro-life insurance companies have to pay Rs 23.44 billion for 3,304 claims as of December 17. So far, the companies have paid claims worth Rs 5.18 billion.
Siddhartha Premier Insurance has paid the highest claim amount so far. The company has paid Rs 5.57 billion for 408 claims and has paid Rs 1,88,32,000 so far.
Similarly, IGI Prudential Insurance is the second highest insurance claim payment. The company has so far paid Rs 1.03 billion. So far, the company has to pay Rs 2.83 billion for 220 claims.
Shikhar Insurance is the third company to pay the highest insurance claim amount. The company has so far paid Rs 71.97 crore out of 448 claims that it has to pay Rs 2.37 billion.
