Bhavavdar police have arrested 25-year-old Ramde Jog on suspicion of plotting to kill his father in search of a chance to settle in Israel. He had hatched a plan with his cousin Viram (39 years old) to assassinate his father Kana. After the murder, Ramde had planned to settle in Israel by claiming his father’s insurance amount of Rs 70 lakh.

According to Simran Bhardwaj, Assistant Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Dhoraji Division, Ramde has confessed to the crime. “To fulfil this scheme, Ramde had taken a life insurance policy in his father’s name, which would pay Rs 70 lakh claim at the time of his death,” said Bhardwaj. Ramde took Biram into confidence by offering him Rs 1 lakh in cash and free food for life, and Biram agreed. ’

Veeram then attacked his Kana twice with an axe and tried to hide his death as an accident. However, the investigation exposed his plan.

Six months before the incident, Kana had sold 4 acres of land and gave money to Ramde. However, Ramde spent the money on fun and repaying the debt. He also bought an SUV.

On December 8, Ramde poisoned his father, Kana, with the intention of killing him. But he survived.

Then, on December 9, Veeram took Kana to the farm on the pretext of giving him alcohol. There he struck Cana on the head with an axe. Kana died at the scene.

After the incident, Biram told the police that his bike had met with an accident after it skidded on the Rajpara-Dhank road and Kana, who was travelling with him, was brought to the farm in a bloody condition. However, as there were no accidents on the way, the police suspected the story and after intense interrogation, Veeram confessed to the crime.

Investigating officer BC Parmar said that the axe used in the murder has been recovered and both of them have been arrested and legal action has been initiated.
