The body of a young man was found near a field in Jaitpur village under Kundarki police station area of Moradabad on the night of November 16. The post-mortem report obtained by the police confirmed the murder. However, the most shocking fact was that Aniket’s father Baburam had planned the murder.

Baburam refused to lodge a complaint calling his son’s death an accident. This is where the police became suspicious. As the investigation progressed, it was found that an accident insurance of Rs 2.05 crore was taken out in the name of Aniket. Baburam’s partner and lawyer Adesh Kumar has proved to be the mastermind behind this insurance policy.

Some time ago, Baburam was jailed in an old case. When he was released from his sentence in July, the lawyer ordered him to say that lakhs of rupees could be obtained from Aniket’s insurance but he must be killed. Baburam made a promise to pay Rs 3.50 lakh to Aslam alias Sultan of Shahabad area of Rampur for the murder of his son.

The Sultan planned the assassination with Tahabbur Mewati and Sajid Mewati. According to the plan, Baburam, along with local Vijaypal, took Aniket on a bike to the Ganga Expressway underpass. There were already three present. After this, they gave Aniket liquor and took him to Jaitpur village in Moradabad. Where they attacked Aniket with an iron rod and killed him. The body was dumped in a field to make it look like an accident.

According to Superintendent of Police (Crime) Kunwar Akash Singh, Baburam Sharma, Aslam alias Sultan, Tahabbur Maiwati and Sajid Maiwati have been arrested and sent to jail. Search is on for absconding advocates Adesh Kumar and Bijaypal.
