Kathmandu. On the occasion of World Soil Day, Sun Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited in collaboration with Lumbini World Peace Forum and Chandranagar Rural Municipality has launched a massive tree plantation campaign in Sarlahi. The first phase of the campaign was carried out today by planting 1,750 moringa saplings at Shree Durga Khonbhari Janata Secondary School in Chandranagar Rural Municipality-2.
The program was jointly inaugurated by Mr. Raj Kumar Aryal, Chief Executive Officer of Sun Nepal Life, Mr. Ganesh Chaulagain, Mr. Nabaraj Chaudhary, Chief of Madhesh Province, Mr. Basu Gautam, and Mr. Raj Kumar Mahato, Chairman of Rural Municipality.
The program was also attended by the branch heads and agents of various branches of the company in Madhesh Province. The event was attended by local community leaders, school representatives and the general public.
The speakers highlighted the high medicinal and nutritional value of moringa plants and noted that community partnership is essential for environmental sustainability. He said that tree plantation programme would be carried out in other wards of Chandranagar Rural Municipality in a phased manner in the coming days.
