The company has been working on this model for a long time. Now it is going to be included in Search, Gemini and Pixel phones.
Regarding the new model, the company claims that it is many times faster and more accurate than the old model. AI-based weather forecasting research labs will reach millions of users.
Google has been working on AI-based weather technology for a long time. Now this work has been completed with WeatherNext-2. The company said that this weather forecast will be more accurate and better. Google will now be able to predict temperature, precipitation and wind speed.
While traditional physics-based models take hours to generate predictions, Google’s TPU chips can now perform the same task in less than 1 minute. This will benefit not only the general public but also industries that rely on real-time and high-resolution forecasting.
Google will now integrate WeatherNext 2 into its main platforms, including Maps, Search, Gemini and Pixel Weather. An early access program will also be launched for enterprise users.
