Life insurer pays Rs. Rs 11 billion claimed, yet Rs. Rs 5 billion due to be paid

Kathmandu. Life insurance companies have paid claims of Rs 11.57 billion to the insured and their dependents in the period of three months.

In the current fiscal year 2082, 17 companies, including three small life insurers and 14 life insurers, are licensed. The amount was paid by mid-September of 83. During this period, the claim payment has increased by 19.63 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to the data published by the Nepal Insurance Authority, the number of claims paid by the life insurance company in the last three months is 58,863. Last financial year 2081. Claim payments increased by 17.13 percent this year compared to the first quarter of 2018-19.

The number of claims paid includes short term, foreign employment term, mature claims, insurance waiver facility, disability compensation, etc.

Last fiscal year 2081. In the first quarter of the previous fiscal year 2080. Claims paid were up 17.52 per cent compared to 81 per cent. The number of claims, however, increased by 6.01 percent.

According to the NEA, life insurers have yet to pay Rs 4.91 billion under 57,321 claims till mid-October.
