Kathmandu. Sanima Reliance Life Insurance has provided financial assistance of five lakh rupees to Samata Education Foundation as a part of its corporate social responsibility.
Samata Education Foundation is a non-profit organization established in the education sector of Nepal for providing accessible and quality education to children in economically weaker sections and in line with the slogan “Education for All”.
The organization has been providing education at a very low fee (Rs. 100 per month) through Samata School in various districts of the country, which has enabled thousands of students to get school education.
The fund collected from the company will be used to purchase educational materials (textbooks, notebooks, uniform, stationery) for the underprivileged and meritorious students of the school, to improve the physical infrastructure and to enhance the quality of education. With this support, the Foundation believes that this support will contribute to ensuring opportunities for continuing education for children who have difficulty in getting an education.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, the company plans to contribute in the areas of education, health, environment protection, financial literacy and disaster management. Through such efforts, the company believes that along with profit-oriented business, social welfare and common development will also be advanced.
Currently, the company has 169 branches all over the country, has a capital of more than Rs. 5 billion, has investments of more than Rs. 20 billion and more than 20,000 agents are working in it. The company employs more than 20,000 agents.
