Kathmandu. In the last one year, the investment of insurance companies in fixed deposits of banks has increased by about 10 percent.
According to the data of Nepal Rastra Bank, insurance companies have invested Rs 677.36 billion in fixed deposits of banks till September 2082. In the previous year, insurance companies had invested Rs 616.35 billion in fixed deposits of banks. The investment of the insurer increased by 9.90 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.
Currently, there are 14 life insurance companies, 14 non-life insurance companies, 4 micro life insurance, 3 micro life insurance and 2 reinsurance companies.
Life insurers can invest up to 30 percent in commercial banks, 15 percent in development banks and up to 7 percent in finance companies.
