Kathmandu. Employees of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) have been protesting for the past 4 weeks, demanding that the autonomy of the government be maintained.
Due to the agitation, the entire work of the Securities Board of Nepal has come to a standstill. It is almost certain that the salary of September will not go to the bank account of the employees due to the lack of administrative work.
The Ministry of Finance, through a revenue secretary-level decision, had sent a letter on September 18 stating that the Employees Welfare Fund Work Procedure, 2071 BS and the Employees Protection Fund (Operation and Management) Work Procedure, 2075 issued by the Board of Directors regarding the Employees Welfare Fund and Employees Security Fund operated by the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) would be scrapped immediately. The agitation has been going on for the last 27 days after the ministry cut off the perks and perks of the employees. The employees have withdrawn the decision of the Ministry of Finance and demanded that the autonomy of the Securities Board of Nepal be restored.
An employee of the protesting Securities Board of Nepal complained that the Ministry of Finance has not received any response so far. “Even the chairman does not come to the office regularly,” the employee said. He doesn’t seem to be paying much attention either. ’
The employee said that there is no possibility of salary due to lack of administrative work. “It has been decided that Laxmi will not enter our house this Tihar,” the employee said.
Currently, there are around 100 employees in the Securities Board. This year’s festival is going to be bad for them as they have not been paid their salaries due to the agitation.
