Kathmandu. Insurance claims of more than Rs 3 billion have been made for the property damaged by floods and landslides caused by heavy rains on October 3.
As per the statistics released by the Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA), 13 non-life insurance companies and two micro non-life insurance companies have 704 claims amounting to Rs 3.26 billion. Shikhar Insurance has claimed the highest amount of total claims so far.
According to NEA, Shikhar Insurance has a claim of more than Rs 60.94 crore. This amount is 54 claims.
Similarly, Siddhartha Premier Insurance has to pay Rs 50.64 crore for 68 claims and NLG Insurance has to pay Rs 50.47 crore for 43 claims. According to NEA, Himalayan Everest Insurance has to pay Rs 370.5 million for 37 claims, while National Insurance has to pay Rs 29.49 crore for 25 claims.
