Kathmandu. The latest data on insurance claims for physical and other damages caused during the Genji agitation has been obtained from non-life insurance companies.
A total of 3,166 claims have been filed in 14 non-life insurance companies and four micro insurance companies with claims amounting to around Rs 23.20 billion, according to the non-life insurance companies. According to the latest data received from the non-life insurance companies, out of the total claim amount, about Rs 2.01 billion has been paid to the insured so far.
The non-life insurance companies have informed that 2,791 claims have been deputed for evaluation and monitoring of insurance claims for physical and other damages sustained during the agitation and the surveyors have submitted 654 survey reports so far.
Similarly, Nepal Reinsurance Company has received a total of 2,733 reinsurance claims from non-life insurance companies and the reinsurance claim amount is around Rs 15.76 billion. According to the data, the reinsurance company has so far paid about Rs 1.63 billion in advance (pesky) to the non-life insurance companies and has deputed joint insurance surveyors for evaluation and monitoring of 60 claims.
