Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Health Insurance Board (HIB) has warned that it will stop the claim payment if the insured members of the health insurance programme demand additional fee in addition to the co-payment.
Issuing a circular in the name of all the service providing health institutions associated with the health insurance program, the Board issued this warning today. “While providing services to the insured, it is mandatory to demand claim payment accordingly in the case of the services falling under the benefit purse,” reads the circular. Action will be taken as per Section 32 of the Health Insurance Act, 2074 and Health Insurance Claim Review and Evaluation Procedure, 2078 (First Amendment, 2081). ’
Likewise, the circular states that serious attention has been drawn towards the revised details of the services and facilities under the facility pouch and the fact that the insured were made to purchase separately as per the rate rate, 2081 BS.
