Kathmandu. Scientists at Rice University have developed a new technique called ‘Molecular Jackhammer’. It has shown evidence that it is able to mechanically destroy cancer cells with the help of near-infrared light.

Around the world, traditional methods of cancer treatment, such as chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, often cause serious problems on the body. However, new research has shown new possibilities in this treatment system. Scientists have used a molecule called a molecular jackhammer to destroy 99 per cent of cancer cells.

New discovery: Technique of destroying cells by vibration

This technology is based on a colored molecule called ‘aminocyanin’. Which is already used in medical imaging. Researchers have found that it can be specifically attached to cancer cells. When near-infrared (NIR) light is exposed to it, these molecules start vibrating very fast. Up to 40 trillion times per second, which breaks the membranes of these cells.

Researchers at Rice University have called this process a ‘molecular jackhammer’. Because it destroys the cell by physically ‘hammering’ at the microscopic level.

Laboratory and animal tests

Tests on human melanoma cells showed that this method destroyed more than 99% of cancer cells. When the same technique was applied to mice, half of the animals were found to have completely lost their cancer.

Aminocyanin molecules remain stable in the body, soluble in water, and are effective even in small amounts. This technique has the potential to be safe in the long run as it destroys cells by physical vibrations without the use of any chemical poisons.

TAG_OPEN_strong_45 Why is this technology special?

Non-chemical treatment: is not a toxic chemical treatment like chemotherapy.

No thermal effect: There is no risk of damage by increasing the heat in the body.

Resistance does not develop: It is difficult for cancer cells to develop resistance to it.

Deep TAG_CLOSE_span_36 cancer can also be targeted as AIR light reaches organs or bones within the body.

Limitations and future direction

}

The technique is currently only tested in laboratories and animals. Clinical trials are needed to evaluate its safety and efficacy in humans. Scientists are now preparing to apply this technique to other cancer types as well.

In the future, molecular jackhammer technology can be used not only for cancer but also for other diseases. Especially those diseases that require cell destruction.

Conclusion

}

This discovery has caught the attention of researchers around the world as a new chapter in cancer treatment. Without conventional toxic drugs or radiation, the concept of destroying cancer cells with mere vibrations could change the course of treatment in the future.
