Kathmandu. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has shown interest in insuring the party headquarters after the offices of the ruling political parties were burnt down during nationwide anti-corruption protests last week.

On September 10, a representative of the Rastriya Samajwadi Party (RSP) had visited the party secretariat of the insurance company after the offices of the political parties were burnt down during the demonstration against the government’s repression.

Demonstrators vandalized, looted and set fire to the party offices of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN-UML) and the Nepali Congress across the country.

As the heat of the agitation continued, the employees of the insurance companies had asked for a one-month waiting period even if the insurance policy was issued.

Now that the agitation has subsided and after the formation of the interim government, the representatives of the RSP have gone again with the proposal to insure the insurance and both the insurer and the RSP are ready for the insurance.

According to sources, the RSP has proposed Rs 50 million as insured for the construction of the party office building. The party has also requested to include the risk of mob riots in the insurance policy.
