Kathmandu. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Chudamani Chapagain has said that arrangements can be made to increase or decrease the trading period of shares if the market environment becomes normal.

Talking to Insurance Khabar, CEO Chapagain clarified that there is no situation to increase or decrease the trading period of the shares. “Share trading has been suspended keeping in mind the current difficult situation. Therefore, there was a general discussion about what to do with the share trade. However, there is no word on reducing the trading period right now. ’

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has suspended share trading till September 18. CEO Chapagain said that share trading will resume from September 5 as per the current system if the market environment becomes normal. “The situation is normal, it will be opened in full phase from September 5 as per the arrangement.

CEO Chapagain said that there may be discussions on reducing the trading time. “Some investors have also demanded that the stock trading should be opened from 4 pm to 6 pm (extended period) while some have said that the market should be opened from 1 pm to 4 pm,” he said. Therefore, we can discuss this issue and move forward. ’

CEO Chapagain said that further discussion on this issue will be held after Dashain and Tihar. “In the current situation, share trading will be opened as per the current system,” he said.

Chapagain said that despite the arson and vandalism during the GenG agitation, the data centers of NEPSE and brokers are safe. “There was talk that the broker’s internet was burnt, it has already been done,” he said.
