Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has decided to invest Rs 1.25 billion in fixed deposits of banks.
The central bank is to invest Rs 1.30 billion in fixed deposits of the banks. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged banks to offer interest rates by 7 pm on September 15.
Out of the total amount, the central bank will invest Rs 1.04 billion in commercial banks, Rs 195 million in national level development banks and Rs 65 million in fixed deposits in national level finance companies.
According to the central bank, this investment will be for 366 days from September 20, 2082 to October 20, 2083.
