Kathmandu. Although the Insurance Authority of Nepal has received complaints, the justice delivery work has seen a snail’s pace.
According to the insurance reflection published by the AUTHORITY, the fiscal year 2081. A total of 525 complaints have been registered. Of these, only 131 complaints have been disposed of. This is only about 25 percent of the total complaints.
According to nea, the review year was the previous fiscal year 2080. A total of 525 complaints including 287 complaints filed at the central office, 91 at the provincial office and three from the appellate office this year. Last year, a total of 437 complaints were filed with the NRA.
Similarly, out of the total complaints filed in the last fiscal year, a total of 131 complaints have been disposed of by the AUTHORITY with the decision of 85 cases and consent of 49. Last year, 150 complaints were disposed of.
According to the NRA, 394 complaints are yet to be disposed of. This is more than 75 percent of the total complaints pending.
Similarly, the central office of the NRA has also brought the judicial bench into operation from June 15. The bench aims to expedite the settlement of complaints related to insurance claims filed with the AUTHORITY. However, looking at the number of complaints cleared, it seems that the AUTHORITY has not been successful in its objective.
