Kathmandu. Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) vice-president Hemraj Dhakal has been appointed as a member of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).
FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal has nominated Dhakal as a sebon member on behalf of the Federation. Dhakal has been appointed as a member of SEBON as per the provisions of Section 3 of the Securities Act 2063 BS.
According to the Act, a representative of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) will be a member of Sebon. Dhakal will represent the private sector in Sebon.
Dhakal said strengthening cooperation between the private sector and government bodies would be his priority to develop the capital market as a sustainable source of the national economy. He said that as a member of the board, he would strive for the development of the capital market.
Dhakal pledged to contribute as much as possible to the policy and institutional initiatives aimed at structural reforms in the stock market, enhancing transparency, protecting investors, expanding market access and encouraging long-term investment.
