Kathmandu. My Farmer, a company that has been purchasing agricultural produce from farmers’ fields and delivering it to the doorsteps of consumers, is going to build a cold store in Chitwan with an investment of Rs 400 million.
The company laid the foundation stone for the construction of cold storage for processing and safe storage of vegetables, fruits and food grains at Patihani on Monday. The construction of the cold house has started on an area of 3 bigha 10 kattha to complete the construction within five months.
My farmers are currently selling vegetables and fruits produced by local farmers through my Kisan mobile app. Through this platform, farmers and consumers can buy and sell goods without any intermediary.
With the theme ‘My Agriculture Is My Pride’, My Agriculture is working with the goal of taking local high-value agricultural produce to the markets at home and abroad. The processing industry to be set up in Chitwan will process the agricultural produce in such a way that it adds value.
The company will soon issue an IPO to the general public to invest more capital for the entire agricultural cycle including seed production, fertilizer, pesticides, production consultancy, production infrastructure, processing of produce, marketing, easy credit facility.
BishnuMani Gautam, a retired director of Nepal Rastra Bank, is the chairman of the company. Gautam is also the chairman of the board of directors of Asha Microfinance Financial Institution. Similarly, youth entrepreneur Avinash Silwal is the managing director.
