The employees have gone on strike due to lack of agreement on the labor agreement. Employees say that aircraft and defense systems are important for security. They deserve an agreement to ensure the financial security of their families and respect their expertise. The strike began on Sunday night.

Boeing had proposed a 20 percent pay increase for employees over four years. It also promised to improve facilities such as medical, pension and overtime. However, the employees considered it inadequate and rejected the offer given by the company.
After a week-long cooling-off period, Boeing submitted a revised proposal. It took into account issues such as an average 40 per cent salary hike and alternative schedules. Employees also denied this.
If the strike continues for a long time, the production and delivery of Boeing’s fighter aircraft and defense systems could be delayed. This can affect the company’s financial situation.
In 2024, 33,000 Boeing employees went on strike in Seattle for seven weeks. They then agreed to a 38 per cent pay hike.
