Kathmandu. Now the national identity card has also been made mandatory in share transactions.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has issued a notice in the name of all the shareholders, urging them to make arrangements for mandatory entry of national identity card or national identity number in the customer identification (KYC) details of the Transaction Management System (TMS) while opening a new transaction account. According to NEPSE, it has received instructions from the Securities Board of Nepal for the implementation of the system of customer identification and verification on the basis of national identity card and to link KYC with national identity card and to get its details electronically.
Nepse has also urged the business members who are using their own separate TMS to make necessary preparations for the implementation of this arrangement.
