Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBI) has decided to give priority to policy reforms related to information technology and investment in infrastructure to make service delivery and regulation of the securities market effective.
In its policy and programme for the current fiscal year unveiled on Tuesday, the Board has announced a nine-point programme to develop information technology infrastructure in the board and securities market and make its use quality, effective and dynamic.
Programs covered by the Board for this year for the promotion of information technology:
- Revise the Board’s Information Technology Policy, 2075, and the Sebon ICT Operational Manual 2020 from time to time.
- Purchase after conducting necessary studies in relation to automatic supervision system and capital market supervision information system so that securities transactions can be supervised in real terms.
- Prepare information technology guidelines and system monitoring framework for market participants by conducting necessary studies to make the use of information technology used in the capital market quality and reliable in a way that is of international principle and standard.
- To conduct a system of transactions in such a way that it is fully monitored by the International System Inspector.
- To conduct awareness and orientation programs for investors and securities entrepreneurs on risk reduction and cyber security to increase the systematic and safe use and quality of information technology in the securities market.
- To manage the complete record of data and information available on the Board and to manage the various systems currently in use and proposed, to set up a Data Center (Data Center) in the Board and make arrangements for the distribution and storage of data through it.
