Kathmandu. Among the promoter shareholders of Asian Life Insurance, Shakti Kumar Golyan holds the highest shares of 5.31 percent.
Golyan is one of the 10 basic shareholders of Asian Life. Golyan last fiscal year 2080. A total of 1,803,743 units of shares were held at the end of 1981. His shareholding in Asian Life has been steadily declining. The previous fiscal year 2079. Golyan owned 6.24 per cent stake in 1980. He had 1,969,408 units of shares.
Golyan Group members also have significant shares in Nepal Life Insurance.
According to asian life’s annual report, another founder shareholder Rajesh Lal Shrestha owns 4.92 per cent shares. He has 1,671,404 units of shares in his name. Similarly, Ratna Devi Shrestha owns 884,007 units (2.6 per cent) of shares.
Another founding shareholder Rukmini Basnet owns 1,558,061 (4.58 per cent) and Brish Bahadur Basnet owns 716,533 (2.11 per cent).
Rohit Gupta of Ramesh Corp owns 766,233 (2.25 per cent), Swati Rungta Agarwal owns 606,699 (1.78 per cent) and Sabita Devi Rungta owns 504,899 (1.49 per cent).
Guheshwori Merchant Banking and Finance Limited is the only institutional shareholder. The financial institution holds a total of 2.59 percent i.e. 879,715 units of shares in Asian Life.
