Kathmandu. Aswini Kumar Thakur has been appointed as an independent director of Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank. Aswini Kumar Thakur has been appointed as an independent director as per the provisions of Section 14 (3) of the Banks and Financial Institutions Act, 2073 BS.
He took charge of the post amidst a program organized at the bank’s office today. At the same event, the board members of the bank jointly wished him a successful tenure. The bank believes that his past experience will help in enhancing the overall institutional good governance of the bank.
He has worked as executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank, chief executive officer of National Life Insurance Company (erstwhile National Insurance Corporation) and board member of mid-western rural development bank, hydroelectricity investment and development company limited, upper Tamakoshi hydropower limited, national banking institute limited and other organized organizations.
The bank has 103 branches and 800,000 customers across the country, providing quality financial services at the doorsteps of the Nepali people with the slogan of “Sabal Bank, Successful Collaboration”.
