Birendra Raj Pandey elected president of Confederation of Nepalese Industries

Kathmandu. Birendra Raj Pandey has been elected president of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI). Pandey has been elected as the president of the 22nd Annual General Meeting of the Confederation. Pandey, who was the senior vice-president earlier, has been automatically elected as the president as per the statute of the confederation.

Pandey, who has been a member of the National Council of the Confederation for a decade and has worked in various committees, became the Vice-President of the Confederation since 2075.

Pandey, who was born in Kathmandu, has been in the construction industry for three decades. Pandey is the executive director of Nepal Adarsha Nirman Company with expertise in civil engineering, housing and urban development, roads and bridges, water resources management and structural strengthening. He is also active in the field of green materials manufacturing, agriculture and education.

Outgoing President of the Confederation Rajesh Kumar Agrawal administered the oath of office to newly elected President Birendra Raj Pandey.

Gopal Kumar Agrawal, Milan Babu Malla, Parasi Agarwal, Rahul Kumar Agarwal, Varun Kumar Todi, Deepak Kumar Agarwal, Rohit Gupta, Hitesh Golchha, Amit Mor, Aashrata Karki, Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary, Akash Golchha, Bikash Dugad, Vikram Singhania, Amit Kumar Begani, Gaurav Sharda, Dilip Agrawal, Yash Agarwal, Sandeep Sharda and Rajiv Gupta have been elected as members of the National Council.

Similarly, Sanjeev Neupane, Hem Raj Dhakal, Anurag Goyal, Dhruba Rijal, Sanjay Golchha, Barsha Shrestha, Raj Bahadur Shah, Bidushi Rana, Laxmi Prasad Subedi, Ashish Jajodia, Pampha Dhamala, Manish Kumar Khemka, Ashish Garg and Sewa Pathak have been elected. Similarly, Gokul Bhandari, Basanta Bahadur Chand and Chandra Tandon have been elected.

Likewise, outgoing Chairman of Koshi Province Bhim Ghimire, Chairman of Madhes Province Pramod Sah, Chairman of Bagmati Province Lekhraj Pokharel, Chairman of Gandaki Province Binod Neupane, Chairman of Lumbini Province Ejaz Alam, Chairman of Karnali Province Chhatra Shahi and Chairman of Sudurpaschim Province Raman Chandra Shrestha have been made members of the National Council.

Similarly, Makwanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Badrinath Sharma, Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Acting President Madan Ghimire, Nawalpur Industries Association President KB Rana, Rupandehi Industries Association President Dilip Sapkota and Pokhara Industrial Area Industries Association’s Rudra Shrestha have been elected as ex-officio national council members.

Seven vice-chairmen have been unanimously elected by the elected national council members. Nirvana Chaudhary was elected as the senior vice-president of the confederation. Likewise, Raj Bahadur Shah, Hem Raj Dhakal, Rohit Gupta, Amit Mor, Bhim Ghimire and Gokul Bhandari have been unanimously elected vice-presidents. Sandeep Sharda, Bidushi Rana and Prachi Agarwal have been nominated as permanent invitees.

Newly elected Chairman Birendra Raj Pandey administered the oath of office to the vice-chair and members of the National Council.

Earlier, taking over as the President of the Confederation, Chairman Pandey said that the Confederation would actively work to institutionalize the achievements made in the past and take it to new heights. He congratulated outgoing Chairman Rajesh Kumar Agrawal for his successful tenure.

Former President of confederation and eminent industrialist Shatish Kumar Mor was honoured with the CNI President Award at the opening ceremony of the General Assembly held on Tuesday.

On the occasion, awards were presented to the organizations and companies contributing to the export by the Confederation. R.M.C. which contributes to exports under SAFTA. Foods Pvt. Ltd., Ganapati Vanaspati Limited, Narayani Well Revitory Udyog Pvt. Ltd. they have been honored. Similarly, Nepal Express Parcel and Logistics Pvt. Ltd., Ascent Express Pvt. Ltd., Smooth Cargo Drivers Pvt. Ltd. are contributing to exports to third countries. they have been honored. Aarti Strips Pvt. Ltd., Reliance Spinning Mills Ltd. and Shivam Plastic Industries Limited have been honoured for their contribution to indo-Nepal exports.

Similarly, Gopal Agrawal has received the most active national council member award, while information technology council has received the most active committee award from the committees, councils and forums under the confederation. Similarly, Bagmati Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Director Himal Poudel received the best employee award.
