Bhotekoshi, Sunkoshi to remain alert tonight

Kathmandu. The government has urged the people living in the vicinity of bhotekoshi and sunkoshi rivers to remain on high alert as heavy rains in Nyalam area of Tibet province of China are at risk of further flooding.

Issuing a public notice on Tuesday, the District Administration Office, Sindhupalchowk, urged the residents living around the river to remain alert as they have received information from the Chinese authorities that heavy rains are taking place in the Tibetan region. It has also been requested to take full precautions while driving in the area from Bandeu to Liping on the Araniko Highway.

The District Administration Office, Rasuwa, has made public the details of the damage caused by the flood till Tuesday evening and informed that 20 people, including security personnel, general public and Chinese nationals, have gone missing in the flood. The office informed that the right leg of a man was found on the bank of a river in Uttargaya Rural Municipality-5.

Besides, 51 people, including four women, have been rescued safely, according to the Rasuwa administration.

Kathmandu: Road connectivity to the northern border point has been cut off due to heavy floods that washed away the Miteri bridge connecting the Nepal-China border. The Syafrubeshi Rasuwagadhi road section has been completely damaged due to floods. The dam of Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project has suffered minor damage.

A total of 23 container trucks, 35 EVs and six Sino trucks parked in the premises of Rasuwa Customs Office have been washed away by the flood.
