Garima Bikas Bank conducts tree plantation programme

Kathmandu. Garima Bikas Bank Limited has completed the tree plantation program of Bar and Pipal as part of its corporate social responsibility. According to the bank, the program was held at six different places of religious and environmental importance in the country.

Trees were planted at Khorpathe Danda and Tulsighat in Kaski, Gahrau Kalika Temple complex in Syangja, Sheetaltar Park Chapakot and Chhayakshetra Shiva Temple complex and Motipur Bridge area in Dang.

Chairman of the bank, former chairman, local people’s representatives, social workers, employees, shareholders and local general public participated in the program.

The bank said that the plantation of Bar and Peepal is an important effort not only for the protection of the environment, but also for the protection of heritage associated with religious beliefs and creating a clean environment for future generations.

Garima Bikas Bank has been regularising such programs by making sustainable development, promotion of green environment and social responsibility a part of institutional strategy. The bank believes that such activities, respecting religious and biological diversity, will help in creating awareness among the local community.
