U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant confirmed this. Bescent described this as a comprehensive reset of the global trade strategy and said that the baseline tariff would be widely applicable. Besant made it clear that the tariffs would also apply to countries currently in talks with Washington.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Treasury Secretary Besant said, “We will see how President Trump will deal with the countries he has been talking to.” I think a minimum of 10 per cent tariff will apply to at least 100 countries. ’

Meanwhile, Us President Trump plans to drop tariff bombs in 12 countries. It is likely to be announced on Monday.

Trump himself has said that he has signed trade letters for about a dozen countries. The letter has been sent to all those countries on the list with an ultimatum of ‘accept or leave’. However, Trump has revealed the names of the countries included in this list. – Agency
