What is the bank’s rule? 10,000 balance mandatory in account, otherwise 6% fine

Kathmandu. A bank in neighbouring India has issued a directive for its customers. “If you do not maintain a monthly balance of at least Rs 10,000 in your account, you will be fined heavily. The penalty could be up to 6 per cent of the balance or a maximum of Rs 500. ’

The directive has been issued by The Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) India. According to the DBS India website, from August 1, the average monthly non-maintained fee will be 6 per cent of the balance. The maximum limit of which will be Rs 500.

The average monthly balance for DBS India’s savings account is Rs 10,000. This bank has sent information to its customers through SMS.

DBS India said on its website, “From August 1, the non-maintenance charges will change depending on the type of your savings account. Now the account holder will have to pay a fee for not maintaining an average monthly balance than before. ’
