Kathmandu. The Health Insurance Board is preparing to implement the provision of providing an additional Rs 100,000 to the insured for the treatment of complex diseases.
On the directives of Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel, the Insurance Board is going to implement the provision of providing an additional facility of Rs 100,000 to the insured for the treatment of complex diseases in the Health Insurance Regulations, 2075 BS. Information Officer of the Insurance Board, Bikesh Malla, said, “We have received instructions from the ministerial level to implement the decision.” ’
According to the regulations, an additional rs 100,000 will be provided to the insured suffering from complex diseases. However, the Insurance Board has not been able to implement this arrangement so far due to lack of resources.
However, this arrangement is likely to come into effect from the next fiscal year. After the implementation of this system, the insured suffering from cancer, heart disease, head and spinal injury, Alzheimer’s, Parkinsonism, sickle cell will be benefited. They will get treatment up to Rs 2 00,000.
At present, under the health insurance program, all types of insured get treatment up to Rs 100,000.
