2 important numbers to know to stay safe from floods and inundation

Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRMA) has urged the general public to take precautions to avoid floods and inundation as the monsoon season has started.

NeA has requested the people living along the river banks to read and understand the sms received on mobile number 1155 for prior information about the flood. Also, people living in areas prone to rivers or floods can contact the 4-digit phone number 1155 to get prior information about the flood situation in the area where they live.

The NRA has requested to call the 4-digit phone number 1149 for immediate rescue in case of flood inundation.

The NRA has also requested people to keep information about the high-altitude areas and deals near their place of residence to avoid floods and move to safer places as soon as they get information about the danger of floods.

Residents in risky areas can charge their mobile batteries fully and provide adequate balance for phone or SMS, making it easier to plead in times of emergency.

In a notice issued in the public interest, the AUTHORITY has also suggested keeping torch lights, ropes, cities, larrows in high places, alum and other items used to clean drinking water in high places inside the house, salt, oil, pulses, grains in the high place of the house in case of an emergency.

The NRA has also urged the general public to contribute by disseminating information about floods and inundation to others as soon as possible.
