Institutional Partner of Nepal Life ‘Ship Fair’

Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) has entered into an institutional partnership at the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Ship Fair 2082. The company has participated in the fair as part of its corporate social responsibility.

The main objective of the ‘Ship Fair 2082’ launched by the Metropolitan City is to teach skills to those who do not have skills and to make those with basic skills more skilled. The fair aims to achieve prosperity in Kathmandu through employment and income enhancement. Under the fair, training related to 37 professions in 10 categories is being provided completely free of cost.

Pravin Raman Parajuli, CHIEF Executive Officer of Nepal Life Insurance Company, said, “We are happy to be a part of this campaign of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

“When the proposal of ‘SHIP Mela 2082’ came to Nepal Life, we took it not only as an opportunity but also as an important campaign to empower the youth and show them the path of self-employment,” he said. The fair will help balance the demand and supply of young manpower through more than 30 different trainings.

He added, “We accepted this proposal as an institutional partner, as it not only provides guidance, skills and security to the youth, but also opens the door to the possibility of building their future.”

Youth from all over Nepal are participating in the event. Some are looking for opportunities for the first time, some are giving a new direction to life. The fair focuses on providing them with the skills, opportunities, encouragement and infrastructure they need.

According to Devendra KC, representative of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, the fair is working under a three-year plan with the slogan of employment and income enhancement, prosperity of Kathmandu, which falls under the project of national pride. The collaboration with the private sector in the fair is remarkable, in which the participation of Nepal Life Insurance Company is especially commendable.

Target class and training management

The fair is specifically targeted at permanent or temporary residents living in The Kathmandu Metropolitan Region, taxpayers, residents of landfill site affected areas, unemployed youth (men and women) and people looking for work after returning from abroad.

The trainings are being conducted in three shifts every day. The training started at 7:00 am and will end at 11:00 am.
