Telemedicine service started at Shivnagar Primary Health Hospital

Kathmandu. Shivanagar Primary Health Centre at Bharatpur-14 has started telemedicine service in coordination with doctors from one hospital to another through internet. The college has started telemedicine service with the technical support of The College of Medical (CMS).

Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal inaugurated the service amidst a grand program on Friday. It is expected that the service will be effective in providing access to doctors for regular check-ups or inquiries.

CMS has promoted telemedicine services at the center under the social responsibility.

Addressing the program, Mayor Renu Dahal said that this service would be fruitful for the poor citizens and patients with time pressure. Earlier, the six-day specialist service will be operated regularly.

Stating that nothing is bigger than the health of the people, she said that the metropolitan city has been carrying out many activities for the health of the city dwellers.

She said two major federal hospitals are coming up in Bharatpur-14 namely teachers and Ayurveda hospital. A 300-bed federal teachers’ hospital and a 100-bed Ayurveda hospital are under construction.

Deputy Mayor chitrasen Adhikari said that the access to health of the people of the area would increase with the availability of specialist services through virtual service in the village. According to him, the specialist service has been started as per the plan to reach the villages of the metropolis.

CMS Manager Dr Sudip KC said that with the introduction of telemedicine service at the health center, it would be easier for the patients.

Chief District Officer Prakash Poudel, DIRECTOR of CMS Nataraj Prasad, Bharatpur Metropolitan City Social Section Chief Shanta Kumari Poudel and CMS Director Dr. Nasima Sultana were present on the occasion. Sudip KC and others spoke on the occasion. The programme was presided over by Rajendra Sakhi, chairman of the health centre.

Specialist services will be provided by the center on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday of every week. According to the Center, specialist services are being provided three days a week from the center in coordination with The Old Medical College and Bharatpur Eye Hospital.
