Kathmandu. Deposits in banks have crossed Rs 7 trillion. According to the data released by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the total deposits of banks and financial institutions have increased to Rs 7,001 billion.
As of the previous day, the total deposits of banks and financial institutions stood at Rs 6,998 billion. Deposits have increased by Rs 3 billion in a single day.
Similarly, the total deposits of commercial banks increased by Rs 4 billion to Rs 6,262 billion as on June 14. As of the previous day, the total deposits of commercial banks stood at Rs 6,258 billion.
The loan investment of banks and financial institutions has also increased by Rs 4 billion to Rs 5,568 billion as of June 1. The total loan investment till the previous day was Rs 5,564 billion. The total credit investment of commercial banks has also increased by Rs 4 billion to Rs 4,949 billion.
The average interbank interest rate is 3 per cent, while the average CD ratio of banks is 78.40 per cent.
