Kathmandu. Under the karnali state government’s ambitious program, all the residents of Sharda Municipality of Salyan are going to be insured.
With 100 per cent grant assistance from the state government, the municipality is going to insure up to Rs 2 million for all residential houses except commercial purposes within the month of June, keeping in view the damage and risk caused by natural disasters.
The state government has selected Sharda Municipality among the local levels of Salyan district in the first phase under the scheme to cover all the households of the state under the insurance security umbrella.
The municipal executive has started survey work in all the 15 wards of the municipality to identify the purpose of using buildings for insurance.
According to Chief Administrative Officer Om Prakash Devkota, the programme aims to cover 10,000 households under the insurance cover.
