Kathmandu. Acme Engineering has won the title of Kosi Project Show Case. Acme Engineering College’s Acme Coaster won the title by defeating nine teams in the final round held in Kathmandu on Sunday.
The first runner-up of the Kosi Project Show Case organized by Alison Hospitality to explore promotional schemes along with the promotion of tourism in The Koshi Province has been made the first runner-up of Pulchowk Engineering College, while the second runner-up is Agro Basti of Nepal Engineering College.
The first runner-up will receive Rs 50,000 while the second runner-up will receive Rs 25,000, trophy, certificate and various gifts. Along with them, the top 10 teams of the competition will now be awarded after re-showcasing the projects to investors and stakeholders in Kosi Province.
Engineer Mandakini Karki, banker Nawaraj Satyal, architecture Punam Shah, young entrepreneur, educational consultant Shishir Simkhada and tourism entrepreneur Chandra Rijal gave the subject-wise marks after seeing the detailed study, observation and presentation of the projects of the contestants.
For the first time in Nepal, the competition involving civil engineering and architecture students has linked engineering and tourism, which has identified the latest tourist areas and also highlighted rural tourism by promoting identified and hidden tourism sites.
Alina Magar, chairperson of Alison Hospitality, said that if investors, local levels or the government show readiness to implement the project, necessary facilitation will also be made for it.
Chairman Magar said that the three-day Koshi Project Show case will attract the youth in nepal’s tourism sector and help improve the country’s economy and create employment.
Beyond the Bridge Team Khwap Engineering College, Koshi Explorer Team Pulchowk Campus, Path Finder Team Pulchowk Campus, KTUPA Team Pulchowk Campus, Winner Team Pulchowk Campus, Sketch Squared Pulchowk Campus, Ruler Ridge Builders Team Nepal Engineering College were selected in the top 10. Earlier, 21 teams had competed in the preliminary selection.
The teams selected in the final round had prepared projects in danda bazaar, Rajarani, Rautapokhari, Solu, Sankhuwasabha, Panitar Ilam, Suryodaya Antu Ilam, Mai pokhari, Okhaldhunga Likhu and Mundhum circuit.
The Koshi State Government, Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Telecom, among others, supported the Kosi project. The event management of the tournament was done by Kafal Event.
